“My hand trembles, but my heart does not.” Stephen Hopkins as he signed the Declaration of Independence
You may not have heard of Stephen Hopkins, but he was an amazing man, as well as one of our Founding Fathers. He was the first Chancellor of Brown University, served three times as the Chief Justice of the Rhode Island State Supreme Court, and served as the colony’s colonial governor four times. The attached image is of the Interpretive Center at the River Bend Farm at Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park which is part of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor in Rhode Island.
What piece of information do you know about a Founding Father which might be of interest to others?
